Call-out Fee (Anfahrtspauschale)

The call-out fee (Anfahrtspauschale) covers the cost of getting the team and the vehicle to your address. In Switzerland it runs from CHF 80 to CHF 250 depending on distance, and with many providers it is waived once the job reaches a certain size.
Why it is charged at all
Getting to your address ties up working time and vehicle costs before any work has been done. On a small job — a single-item collection, say — the journey can be the largest single cost block. That is why it is shown separately instead of being hidden inside the hourly rate.
How to reduce travel costs
First, by bundling: several items or several rooms in one appointment instead of spread over several. Second, through flexibility on the date — if we are in your municipality anyway, the separate journey often disappears entirely. Third, by choosing a local provider: a company coming from another canton inevitably charges more for travel.
On larger jobs the fee is normally dropped with us, because it does not carry any weight relative to the total effort.
A real example
A client in Wallisellen wants a sofa taken away. Because we already have a job in the same municipality that day, the separate journey is dropped and she pays only the collection and disposal share. With a dedicated appointment, the call-out fee of CHF 90 would have been added.
